The sunset in Utqiagvik, Alaska until 2020.  Could you live in darkness this long?

I'd have to believe that's one of the most depressing places on earth. I couldn't do it.

If I  didn't have windows in my office I'd barely see daylight myself.

You'll probably re-think that because if they go sixty days with total darkness, I'm sure they go sixty days with total daylight.

I could do it. I once worked a midnight to 8:00 AM shift for about 6 weeks in January where I rarely saw the sun. You'd get used to it.

Not me. In my business I've gone months working nights and I never get used to it. Now that I'm 50 I've got about two weeks in me before I basically become a zombie.

I couldn't do all sunlight either.

Ugh, if the weather is gray and gloomy for 3 days, I get a serious case of the blues.  I would have a hell of a time in Alaska.

The name of this town used to be Barrow.

When I was child, I loved lateral thinking puzzle books.  This was subject of one of the puzzles.

A teenager asked his parents to go to a party.  They said he could as long as he was back before the next sunrise.  He was clean shaved when he left.  He returned the next sunrise with a full beard.   How is this possible?
