New England isn’t playing their backups.  Win or lose this game worries me as a Patriots fan, NE isn’t playing playoff winning football.  Dolphins aren’t the same team they were week 2,  The improvement they have shown this year is a good sign for next year and going forward.

I'm not a historian on this, but when was the last time the Patriots didn't have a 1st round bye? Also, have they ever won a Superbowl without the bye? Maybe the first one?

EDIT: That was easier to research than I thought. They've never won or made a Superbowl without the bye and their last Week 1 appearance was in 2010.

That is inaccurate.  The NEP has appeared in the super bowl as a wildcard team.  They lost in the SB. That was the year NE upset the heavily favored Dolphins in the AFCCG.

I'm only counting the Brady era, not the......whoever the hell the QB was era.
