For us "older" members NFL Today was thee show for pre-game analysis in the 70's.  Brent Musburger, Irv Cross, Jimmy "The Greek" Snyder and of course Phyllis George were must watch TV on Sunday mornings.  She wasn't just a pretty face, and was a trailblazer for women in sports broadcasting. RIP

Yep, she was quit a trailblazer for women.  I remember her as a young kid.  She was essentially hired to try the concept of putting a pretty female on a football show.  She admittedly didn't know a lot about football but rather than just skating by as a pretty face, she really put in the work to educate herself about the sport and about broadcasting and actually became pretty good at it.
