https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/29260860/sources-nba-approve-plan-22-team-return-eight-regular-season-games

The basic details go something like this -- not sure of final vote yet.

22 teams, more West than East.  (Any team within striking distance of playoffs.)
They play 8 "regular season games".  Then seed a playoff.

All games played at Disney World in Orlando.

Sounds cool; I'm excited by it.

That is fantastic news. Hopefully the Lakers can start where they left off. You know, most dominant team in the league. Destined to win the Finals.

So, they're not going to have a regular 2020/2021 season?

Listen, it's over. You don't take 4 months off and then go back to where you left off. Everything has changed, just end the season and start fresh for next year. This is a joke and an asterisk season, might as well have celebrities play too and just donate the money to charity. It will be just as authentic.

It will be similarly viewed as the 1982 Redskins SB.

This season ends in October and the next starts games December 1st meaning they start training in November. I hope they enjoyed their off season.

They could delay the start of next season.  Heck, they might not be able to finish this one depending on how the disease goes.

Bring it on Miami. I really would have preferred a Lakers/Celtics Finals, but beating the Heat will be almost as good as beating the Celtics.

Seems like decidedly less enthusiasm on this board than there was for the Heatles.  Some of that is to be expected - the 2020 Heat are a Cinderella team - but you guys should be excited about a good team with a young core that wants to stay in Miami.  If the Heat pick up a good piece in the offseason, they could be the Warriors of the Eastern Conference.

Well I'm nervous. I don't like being up 2-1 against this surprise team that wasn't supposed to be there. And I really hate Jimmy Butler right now. Big game tonight. Lakers better channel Kobe for this one.
