Yankees vs Nationals on July 23

Rest of MLB squares off on July 24

The DH will be put in the NL, something I've been wanting a long time.

If games go into extra innings, each team will get a runner on second base to start their half of the inning.

60 game season with full playoffs.

GO RAYS!!!!

I don't think MLB is going to get this season off.  Players are opting out of the season left and right, the testing is delayed in many organizations (which the player's union is taking as stalling the results) and (so far) 19 teams have at least one player on their MLN roster with a positive test.

The positivity rate is low (1.2%) but that is known tests (again, see delays).  As this drags on you'll see more and more players "take their ball and go home."

You're going to see some shitty baseball because no player will feel like they are champions if their team wins this thing and no one will be pumped due to a lack of fans. Not saying that Gerrit Cole will start throwing underhand, but the overall effort won't be there as if this were a real season.

DH in the NL is a good thing though and should stay. I'm tired of people telling me about the purity of the game as a pitcher bats .139 and kills every single rally.

I've never seen anyone say that Gregg Popovich and Tim Duncan don't really have 5 rings because they won one in a lockout-shortened year.  Ditto for LeBron's win in 2012 or Joe Gibbs's win in 1983.

Titles are titles. That asterisk stuff is for nerds.

The NBA didn't restructure their entire playing format for the regular season and playoffs in 1999. MLB is changing tons of rules, the whole season is a gimmick. Maybe around October it will have a more serious feel to it but you won't be seeing many dives the first 2 months.....other than the Astros diving out of the way of baseballs to their heads.

Just a reminder that I am sticking to my stubborness and will not recognize a champion this seaosn from baseball, nor do I give a shit that the Yankees made the "playoffs". It's a giant spring training to me.

My Braves will storm into the playoffs and then get sent home so they can worry about how to stop the fans from doing the tomahawk chop next year.

Hey, at least the playoffs are happening.  I was convinced MLB wasn't going to pull this off.

And the Rays will face their nemesis.  The evil pinstriped Yankees.

It would be fire to see a Padres/Rays world series.

Far out there but it could end up being a Marlins/Rays World Series. That would be par for the course in 2020.

A little trivia ... the Marlins have never lost a post season series.

I'm still dreaming of a Redsox/Cubs or Yankees/Cubs World series. Some day. Some day. Guess I'll be cheering for the Yankees.
