So, the Dolphins were dinged by COVID this week. A defensive assistant coach tested positive landing the team in the NFL's "intensive protocol". As a result, Friday's practice turned into a masked walk-through and all meetings were handled remotely.
Unrelated, Lynn Bowden was placed on the COVID list. No word on whether he tested positive or was a close contact of someone who did (although not the coach, since the team is saying the two were unrelated).
This doesn't immediately change anything for the game tomorrow and the team proceeded yesterday to fly out to Arizona, as planned.
One interesting thing that I didn't know (but certainly hoped), is that the Dolphins have a designated understudy for each coaching position, including head coach - and they've practiced having the understudy take over responsibilities (including Flores' understudy). No word on who's set to back up whom.
