I thought this was interesting. Guy doesn’t have much respect for the concept of personal property but does care about the well being of children.

I just hope he gets a kidnapping charge on top of the auto theft charge and ends up in general population in prison with no protective custody.

I had to look up the exact language for Oregon, but I don’t know how any rational person could read that article and think this is a guy that deserves to be changed with kidnapping regardless of the exact definition.  

The mother is lucky that she is in Oregon, in many states she could have been charged with neglect for leaving the child alone in the car.  She is also very lucky that the car thief made the right choice when he realized he had a child in the back seat.
