That's insane.  I'd be hyped to get him or Pitts.  I also saw a video of Chase benching 225lbs 23 times.

If our choice is between Pitts and Chase, I don't think we can miss. That being said, I am pretty sure that the Falcons are going WR with their pick due to Ryan's contract so they may end up making the decision for us.

I doubt it.  With Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley, they are stacked at WR.  Also, they have so many holes to fill on the defensive side of the ball.  Not to mention, with Matt Ryan getting long in the tooth, they could very well bring his future replacement in (that's the rumor anyway).

I think the first four selections are QB, and Cincy gobbles up Sewell to protect Burrow from ending his sophomore season on IR like he did his rookie season.  That leaves us with the pick of the litter of top notch pass catchers.

Unfortunate for them that the year they get to pick 4th is the year that the 3 teams ahead of them are all going QB. Never before has a QB gone in the first 4 picks, but history is working against them now. They could draft Ryan's replacement and sit him 2 years but that's only if they are cool with drafting the 4th best QB which will be Fields or Lance. If they go defense, the pick might be a reach and they could trade down a bit to Carolina or Denver.

Either way, unless something obscene happens and Chase/Pitts are off the board before we pick, we are good. Even then, hello Sewell.

I just watched LSU's Pro Day.  Jamarr Chase ran a 4.38 in the 40 yard dash.  My mind is made up.  He's the one I want to see the Dolphins take at #6.

Love that speed, but I have to ask... Which would you consider more impressive, a 6'0" 206 lb WR running a 4.37 or a 6'5" 240 lb TE running a 4.42?

Again...just throwing thoughts out there. I'm 100% peachy with either.

The Dolphins are pretty much guaranteed to get Chase, Pitts or Sewell.  That's exciting!

I agree that either would be a perfect addition.  But I'm watching Chase's Pro Day right now too along with some tape on him.  Whew, guy is the total package.  Rare to see someone with that speed who is also really physical at slapping away press coverage and going up for 50/50 balls with super strong hands.  I try not to get overly excited about Pro Days and combine performances because they are under such controlled environments.  But he does have that "wow" factor.  But you are right, Pitts has it too.

For Miami's offense, I'd rather have the TE. If Marino is the QB, I'd rather have the WR.

Apparently, Joe Burrow has been lobbying the Bengals front office to take Chase if he is available. There is a small chance both Chase and Pitts are gone by the time we pick at 6. Do we go Sewell or Smith if that happens?

I can understand that seeing that Chase helped Burrow win the Heisman.   But their O-Line is going to get Burrow killed as it is.

I can understand that seeing that Chase helped Burrow win the Heisman.   But that line is going to get Burrow killed and Sewell is the first piece in rebuilding it.  And a huge piece he is.

Cincy doesn't want to upset Burrow, but they don't want him to be a cripple either. No good to them then. I still say they take Sewell but if they don't and neither does Atlanta then it's a big shakeup. At that point, I take Sewell and try to package the 18th pick with a 2nd rounder to see if we can get Smith or Waddle then, even though I am not in love with Waddle.

If he goes before number 6 I'm going lose my temper. Chase, I'm talking about.

Sewell, in a South Florida minute.

You're building a team based on their upside. You have one pick, do you give your young QB a Marvin Harrison or an Orlando Pace?

But I'm watching Chase's Pro Day right now too along with some tape on him.  Whew, guy is the total package.

I record them during the day and watch when I get home...so thanks for spoiling that .40 time for me!  Wink

If it is Sewell at 6, what do we do at WR? Take one at 18? Trade up for one? Stick with what we got and address it next year in the draft and with the big WR free agent class?

1) This is a very deep WR class, by virtually anyone's account.
2) Miami has more picks than just the #6 overall.

Plenty of chances to get an excellent WR in this class. Will they be as good as Chase? Nope. But then again, any tackle you draft later isn't going to be anywhere near the quality of a Pennei Sewell.

Chase, Pitts, Sewell...it's a win-win-win at #6
