Chase vs. Pitts

I can see Atlanta trading with a team for a QB, but Jones sacrificing valuable draft picks for a tight end when his team has lots of holes is......well, that's what Jerry Jones would do. It would make their offense very scary but scary enough to be a contender? I don't know.

And stuff like this is why the Cowboys will never contend again until Jerry the owner gets rid of Jerry the GM.

Unfortunately, the "rumors" are now leading to Atlanta taking Pitts and Cincy taking Chase. Leaving us with Sewell or maybe Devonta Smith.

If this happens, and it looks more and more likely that Pitts will be unavailable to us, what do we do?

His size is very concerning. Adding Waddle's speed would help our offense, but would he be a reach? This draft is hard to figure out what would and wouldn't be a reach because you don't know who is going to fall due to other team's needs.

In that order and would be happy with any of them as they all are playmakers.

Wouldn't Parsons be a reach and would we even care if he was? I'm all in on adding him to the team but we should focus on offense with our top pick. Maybe trade up to 12 or wherever for Parsons if the price is right.

Parsons is definitely a reach.  If Chase and Pitts are gone, you take Sewell, then Smith or Waddle.

Pretty sure we would have to trade up for either of those two. We can stay at 18 and still get a quality player but if we really want to give Tua some weapons, trade up for a WR and go defense in the 2nd round.

That's why he's at the bottom of my list, but I'd still be happy with him even if he's a reach.

I'd prefer to get Pitts/Chase/Sewell/Smith/Waddle at #6 and get Kwity Paye at #18 (he's been off the charts at his pro day, he's a beast but kind of raw).  Then get one of the two top Centers with our first 2nd round pick and maybe get Javonte Williams with our second 2nd round pick, as Najee Harris and Travis Etienne will probably be gone.

That's probably the Dolphins draft plan right now, close to their best case scenario. However, I would prefer to stay away from any "raw" talent. We aren't rebuilding anymore, we are building a contender for 2021. We should only go for immediate contributors.

This I agree with.  Trading down to trade back up made no sense.  Should've held on until draft day, then traded down.  They would've picked up a king's ransom

They DID pick up a king's ransom.  And by being quick to trade back up to 6, MIA is in a great position to get either the best WR, the best TE, or the best LT in the draft.

Imagine if MIA was still sitting at 3 and SF had traded with PHI instead, figuring that one of Fields/Jones/Lance is guaranteed to still be on the board.

I'm more excited about the 1st round pick swap next season than the 1st rounder in 2023. I expect the Niners to be really good by then but we may get lucky next year and get a Top 13 pick out of it due to the division being so tough.

I disagree.  To me, the best part of the SF trade is that MIA will have 2 firsts in the 2023 draft, giving them two years to evaluate Tua and some extra capital to make a move up if they decide he's not the answer.
