If the Niners draft Jones, the Falcons phone will be ringing off the hook, but I still would be shocked if the Niners did that.

If we snag one of the top 3 guys on offense with 6 then I’m actually kind of wanting them to take Harris. I know it’s a risk because  first round RB’s over the last decade or so haven’t really been worth it. There  are a few RB’s that can change a game and it’s a huge asset.

Tennessee took Derrick Henry with a second but knowing everything we know now would he be worth a first? Absolutely and I’m not saying Harris will be Henry but I think he’ll be damn good and make us instant contenders. I get it’s a risk but I think it’s one worth taking. Either way I’m excited and I think we’re gonna do good. At the risk of breaking our hearts I still think there’s a lot of reasons that our patience with Miami might finally be rewarded.

I'm pretty sold on Javonte Williams in the 2nd round.  He breaks so many tackles and he can catch too.  Williams Thunder, Gaskin Lighting with Ahmed as a 3rd down back sometimes is a solid RB core.

If I were to have my wet dream draft it would be

1a. Pitts TE / Chase WR
1b. Paye EDGE
2a. Humphrey C / Dickerson C
2b. Javonte Williams RB

I'm pretty sold on Javonte Williams in the 2nd round.  He breaks so many tackles and he can catch too.  Williams Thunder, Gaskin Lighting with Ahmed as a 3rd down back sometimes is a solid RB core.

Those picks are basically where I am at, although I would be happier with a more versatile linebacker since that fits what Flores does better. Those 2 centers are studs and will be with us for awhile. I can go RB in the 2nd but I think the Top 3 backs will be gone by our 2nd pick but so will the centers so we will have a choice to make. I prefer center.

EDIT: I am very much in favor of using one of our extra 3rd round picks to move up and draft whichever Center or RB we didn't get to draft with our 1st pick. Highly unlikely we select a better player in the 3rd round than the 2nd. We acquired this capital, time to use it.

I can see them trading up for the Bucs 1st rounder but I think it would be more about jumping the line than it is for that 5th year, although that would be a nice bonus if the player lasted that long. Most RBs do not because of how punishing the position is.

I have come up with what I would love to see our first round picks look like while still trying to be realistic about who will be available at #6 and #18.   As long as there is a decent run on Quarterbacks at the top of the first round, I think Chase has a good chance of being there at #6 so I would take him at #6 and Jaelen Phillips at #18.  Phillips has been quite a riser since his Pro Day which I hate because I was totally digging the guy even before he went off the charts at his Pro Day.  Before it, I could have seen him still being there at the 4th pick of the 2nd round.  But now I don't think he will last that long.  So I would be ecstatic with Chase and Phillips in the first round.

The Falcons are going to shape the rest of the whole draft. QBs are going 1-3 guaranteed. The question now is whether the Falcons draft a QB, trade the pick or get Pitts. Ryan is still there for 2 years guaranteed but odds are the Falcons won't pick this high for awhile so now is there chance to get a QB. I really have no idea what they will do, I think they would like it if some team blows them away with an offer for their pick but if no one does, they will probably take Pitts.

As far as Phillips goes, with his injury history and questions about whether he even wants to be in the NFL, I want us to avoid him. The talent is there but if you aren't mentally 100% committed to this league, you will be gone quickly. Rather not waste the 18th pick on a guy like that, we can't afford to.

Yeh .... I don't know how much that 5th year comes into play for trading back into the first but it might. Hard to outthink these GMs.

I think the Bengals take Chase and Miami takes Devonta Smith. I think they only take Sewell if Pitts, Chase and Smith are all off the board which I think is nearly impossible which is why I think they were comfortable with the 6th pick.

I'd rather they grab a stud O-Lineman or edge rusher at that position.  You can get Javonte Williams in round 2, Michael Carter in round 3, or Trey Sermon in round 4.

I just don't see any RB doing substantially better than Gaskin behind our line in 2020 except for Henry. With need at RT, Center, WR and DE I just don't see us using a 1st on RB. We may not even use a 2nd unless things fall in the right order.

Although Smith is outstanding and I love his work ethic, I'm just afraid that thin frame of his is not going to hold up in the NFL.  If Chase is gone, I'd almost rather see the Dolphins take Waddle rather than Smith.
