I did some more testing and it looks like post-upgrade, the forum software is REALLY finicky about punctuation. In order to copypaste an article from NBC News, I had to re-type (in practice: search and replace) most of the punctuation in the article. Here's the article in question:

Fau, if you're looking to reproduce the error, any of the apostrophes in that article should trigger a database error if you try to paste them into a message and post it.
