So I'm just curious about what other people on here "sound like" and what some of the unique expressions or euphemisms are used in your area's vernacular. For example. I can say something as stereotypical and overdone as "I pahk my cah in Hahvid Yahd to go to the packie."   "What are you, retahdid kid? You can't pahk ya cah in Hahvid Yahd. Take the T doood."

Nice. Is this South Florida, or is Publix pretty wide spread? I'm familiar with Publix from my travels down to Ft. Lauderdale/Miami for Dolphins' games.

Thanks. I'll check that video out. I didn't know that packie  was heard outside of MA.

I've never seen any prickly pear cactus jams/jellies anywhere but in AZ, so maybe that?

That sounds tasty. I brought some jars of huckleberry jelly home with me from a trip to Yellowstone. Also tasty.

My career has moved me around pretty extensively, but I've been in Dallas for over 10 years now.  It is kind of interesting because there is definitely a specific "Texas accent" that seems to have a few aspects of it that seem to make it unique even in comparison to other "southern" states.  However, Dallas is such a huge metropolis and business/banking/finance center that a large percentage of people who live here are from other areas of the country.  So even though most of Texas has the "Texas accent", it is much less common here in the Dallas area simply because so many people are from somewhere else.

The need for so many people in a highly metropolitan city to own huge 4 wheel drive pickup trucks always kind of amuses me.

We don't have any odd accents where I'm from, but growing up there was different local terminology for foods.

Such as Hot Pie and Pop = pizza and soda.

Also, with a lot of people from different Eastern European Countries there are different spellings and pronunciations for certain ethnic foods like halupki and pierogi.  Depending on what country your ancesters came from these can be spelled different and sound extremely different.

Another item is the pronunciations of certain streets. Leroy, Beethoven, Goethe, and Handl are pronounced at least two different ways depending on how your family said the names when growing up.

Interesting Masterfins. Where are you from? And you grew up in an area with streets named after classical composers. That's pretty cool.

Pie is pretty much an East Coast thing. The big dialect map of pop/soda/coke (which we've discussed here before) says pop is northern, with only the western parts of NY and Penn. overlapping with "pie" country. Combined with the classical composers, I'm going to take a stab at Binghamton, NY.

Added: Checking, Binghamton does have a Haendel Street, so afaict it tics all the boxes.
