Yeah I agree for the most part.  Cryptocurrency is a more volatile version.

I accept your point that there is some level of risk in both, but "I think the Chiefs will win on Sunday" have odds attached to it in a way that stocks don't.

Generally speaking, stocks (as a collection) grow as our economy grows.  It's not a 50/50 guess like it is with football.

Any one stock could fall to 0.  But a portfolio is a proven value given a long enough timeline.

For day traders, yes.  For long term investors, no.
