Why are you answering for Dave? Who TF are you?
That's an... interesting take, given that Dave wasn't even responding to you in the first place.
I guess hypocritically whining about how you weren't talking to me is easier than addressing my reply on the merits!

He was addressing the thread topic. I was addressing him with questions specific to him.

You want to answer questions specific to you. Go to the McDaniel/Race thread where I addressed you. The thread you abandoned because you painted yourself into a corner and showed your hypocrisy.

Anyhow, Dave is a grown ass man. I'm sure he doesn't need you to answer for him.

If you want to ask Dave questions without any input from anyone else, I suggest you PM him.  You should be pretty familiar with how a message board works, given the frequency with which you remind other people that this is a forum.

Pretty hilarious that you want to talk about anything - other threads, who is allowed to reply to whom - except the actual content of my response.  If Dave is "bought and paid for" when the Democrats he voted for give him benefits they campaigned on, aren't you (and every other conservative) "bought and paid for" when the Republicans you vote for give you the tax cuts they ran on?

I think Biden's done an okish job so far. Better than the last guy obviously. We haven't had any stupid trade wars with china yet. Also insurrections have gone down way more under Biden than under the last guy.  Last I checked Biden also didn't tear gas a crowd in a public park so he could walk across the street to hold an upside down bible to take a selfie.

He did end the war in afghanistan, did pretty alright with covid.
On the negative side, he got nowhere with the build back better plan really because he's getting cockblocked by 2 senators that probably won't win their next primaries.  He could unilaterally cancel a ton of student debt but hasn't. (not that i'm surprised about that, he is in the pocket of the banking industry). Overall he's pretty Meh .. 50/50 .. so-so .. which is about where I figured he be. Still better than the last guy tho.

Please enlighten me on which Republicans that I "voted for". Also, explain how and what anyone gave to "me".

So you're saying that you're bought and paid for?

The prompt was "how is your life better".  Not owing 80,000 of bullshit debt is better.  I just answered the question asked of me.  No need to attack me for it.

Who harassed you daily? Your leadership at your place of employment?

Donald Trump attacked me daily with things that he said.  He was hostile towards his own constituents in a way that I don't think a politician  should be.  I know you don't seem to think that matters, but it matters to me and added a lot of unneeded stress and anxiety to my life.  I'm a happy person now that he's not in charge and doing that.  Again, just answering the question.

I'm not attacking you, if it came across that way you have my apologies. But at the same time, that bullshit debt is something you agreed to take on in the understanding that you would pay it back according to the terms you agreed to. Just want to know when the government is going to pay off $80k worth of everyone else's debts like credit cards, car loans, medical bills, and mortgages. It's really no different, a debt is a debt.

Judging from that answer it has more to do with you than it does Trump.

A debt is not a debt.  Also, it wasn't mine; I married into it.  But I also don't think it's ethical to have 18 year olds making financial decisions that prevent their financial independence for the rest of their lives.  And debt is a contract -- there's understanding with contracts that they have to be fair for both parties.  Just because you agree to something doesn't make it fair and forever binding.  This is what I do for a living.  Debt is cancelled all the time for any number of reasons.  Usually it's cancelled with businesses, so it's nice to see it helping the little guy.

And also, your disagreement with the policy isn't what's at play here.  The promt was "how is my life better".  You can argue that it shouldn't be better and that we'd be better off if my family was still strapped with debt, but you'll have to forgive me if I don't believe that.  A politician that make direct moves to improve the middle class and directly helped change the trajectory of my family is someone that I'm thankful for.  Call me crazy.

Well, it's both.  I don't like to be harassed by those voted in to look out for my best interest.  So, my life is better and more enjoyable when I feel that the people in charge are working to better my life, rather than to mock me daily.  It has a real world impact on my mental health.  Trump was exhausting...it made me curl up and shy away from the news.  I just couldn't stomach the lies and mockery.  Again, it's cool that you can just ignore that, but I absorbed that negativity.

Also, I think it brought out the worst in people.  People are lying "Let's Go Brandon" and "Trump Won" flags down the street.  I'm just not here for that.  That's not the world I want to live in, so the quicker that this kind of thing dies, the better.

If I'm not mistaken, in most states 18 is the legal age you are able to sign a binding contract so I'm not sure how it's not ethical. That's the whole point of legally determining who is a minor and who is an adult. Reframe it another way. What if they took away student loans and made you pay for school by the month? What would happen?

Your issue isn't with student loans, it's with college tuition.

Yes, your life is better. At what expense though? Nothing is free, someone else has to lose for you to gain.

Once you realize that they're all mostly the same and it's all a show it's easy to be indifferent.

That's literally what it means to live in the United States. People have the freedom to live the way they choose. The world you want to live in will never exist.

I can't say my life is any better under Biden, in fact it's worse off and will be for years to come because of the actions he's taken.  He's done some good things so I do give him some credit, but there is nothing specific that I can say has made my life better since he took office.

I just couldn't let this one pass by:

A lot of what you said sounds like when Obama said manufacturing jobs are just not going to come back and what's Donald going to do wave a magic wand. Then the Trump Administration cut 2.7 major regulations for every one added, greatly reducing regulatory cost and risk. Trump’s pro-growth policies appear to be all the magic the manufacturing sector needed.
When Donald Trump left office, America had 3 million fewer jobs then when he started.
Under Joe Biden, America has gained over 6 million jobs.

Everything Trump said about bringing manufacturing back was a lie.  America bled manufacturing jobs under Trump.
