However, I'm surprised that some people who believe in Christ wouldn't be offended that their savior's imagery is being used to promote a football team.

I'm sure there are some who would or are upset about that but in my opinion the Bible cautions against worshipping idols. It's Christ Himself we should be worshipping and not his "likeness" or any gift He can give us. There's a whole lot to unpack in that statement but that's the jest.

To me its cool and all they are dedicating it to Jesus but in reaiity its just a statue overlooking the coast line with a gorgeous view. I also think many non Christians visit it as a tourist spot rather than a religeous experience.

Yeah, like I said, I think it's cool -- I don't consider that to be religious imagery to be personally any more than the pyramids.

If they went to Saudi Arabia, they would do Mecca but there is no way it would be allowed as it is a Holy Place where Muhammad was born.

If the Saudis did allow it, I would have no qualm with it.

I swear, some people get offended by everything.

I swear, some people get offended by everything.

Such as a teacher being addressed as Mx.

The pronoun they.

Books that validate non-nuclear families.

An Islamic prayer center in lower Manhattan

Teaching the truth about slavery.

Teaching the truth about Native-American genocide.

Non-English speakers.

Peacefully kneeling to protest police brutality.

I could go on.

It doesn’t bother me personally but it’s pretty tacky whether you think it’s an endorsement or a religion or religion selling itself to the NFL it’s a big eye roll from me and I wouldn’t have agreed to it but it’s not a big deal or anything.
