gay night club shootings and media bias
MyGodWearsAHoodie:
Pretty much every single account of Pulse night club mentions the religion of the shooter (Muslim) and his ties to ISIS within the first two paragraphs. However, most articles about Q nightclub fail to mention the shooters religion (Christian) or the fact his grandfather is a Republican who compared Jan 6 to the Revolutionary War. And even those who do mention these facts bury it deep within the article as if this is irrelevant.
CF DolFan:
You caught us. It's a national conspiracy to protect the Christian Alt Right because that's what MSM is known for. BTW ... many people complained about how the Pulse shooter was originally protected and not called a Muslim extremist even after the facts came out.
This guy is a piece of shit who chose to kill regardless of where he came from. He doesn't represent Christians, white people, Republicans, gun owners, straight males, or other pieces of shit who choose not to murder a bunch of innocent people they disagree with. If it makes you feel better or superior to blame then knock yourself out. You do you.
Dave Gray:
The greater truth is this:
When people otherize a group, be it gays, immigrants, Jews, etc. -- politicians will whittle away the rights and use dog whistles -- the fringes will normalize hatred and bigotry towards them -- and crazy people will latch on to this message to carry out atrocities. But it all rolls downhill.
Politicians are out there fighting against marriage equality. They're out there saying that drag queens are an assault on the family. They're dog-whistling that they're pedophiles out there to corrupt your children.
Pastors are out there saying that these gays are an abomination and an affront to God.
And a few whackos are going to run with it and kill them. That's how this goes.
DenverFinFan:
A lot of this country wants to bury its head in the sand and not recognize the threat from right win Christian extremists. It’s very possible this country sees extreme internal violence within the next decade.
Something like this was inevitable with the rhetoric pushed by the right these days.

I will agree with that part. His religion is irrelevant, but it is exactly as relevant as the Pulse shooters religion, no more, no less. Both should be in the first two paragraphs or neither should be.
So yes, despite your false belief otherwise that has no actual relationship to reality and your love to claim to be the victim while simultaneously being the oppressor, the MSM is most certainly less likely to equate the actions of a violent Christian to Christianity being a violent religion than they are it a violent Muslim to the idea that Islam is inherently violent.
