Even the Republicans don't want this. It's just a few weirdos who are making McCarthy do it. He gave away the farm to get the speakership and if he doesn't follow along, he will lose his job.
This is crazy to me, he should resign the speakership if he can't act freely. Then we can begin the speaker election circus again. Its absurd that the party is fighting within itself and the minority "wierdos" have the rest of the House by the balls.
On the original topic, I'm curious why this topic wasn't brought up 5-ish years ago when Trump was throwing left-leaning journalists out of his press conferences, limiting press credentials, and calling everyone "fake news..."?
