There's no question that Flores was bad for Tua and bad for the Dolphins as a head coach. The question is was Flores trying to sabotage Tua or was he just a bad head coach? In my opinion it's pretty clear it's the latter. He's certainly no Mike McDaniel that's for sure.
I fully believe he was a bad head coach.  To me, the only thing he did right was in the defensive secondary, and even then, the Minkah Fitzpatrick situation might speak differently.  But sabotaging your brand shiny-new QB is only one reason why he was a terrible coach.

Ok, so your saying he did it, but he didn't do it on purpose, he's just a bad head coach. Ok, I guess I can accept that. I don't call that sabotage, but I can see that point of view. Fair enough.

If Flores really was trying to sabotage Tua, then why did he choose to draft Waddle with the #6 pick?
I think Flores believed he was getting a weapon for Watson (or whatever QB he replaced Tua with).

Fair enough, but then he must have known there was a chance that Tua might actually improve with a guy like Waddle to throw to as the trade for Watson seemed to be pretty much dead at that point. It's not possible that he still held out hope for Tua even though he wasn't convinced he was the right QB?

Watson was traded to CLE 10 months after Waddle was drafted, so I don't think Flores had given up on that trade at all.  And just because Flores thought his current QB was a bum, that doesn't mean he's going to completely give up on getting any offensive weapons; he would obviously want Tua's replacement to be able to hit the ground running.

I just think he never believed in him and therefore didn't try to get the most of him.  Instead, he did what he wanted and willingly let Tua fail at it with the hopes of replacing him.  Also, it's possible that Flores had a bit of "I told you so" for not wanting him in the first place.

I wouldn't exactly call the #18 and #36 pick plus Tua "the franchise".  That's what I would offer Houston for Watson, take it or leave it.  We can then draft a franchise left tackle to protect Watson at #3 or trade back and recoup some of the picks we gave up to get Watson, and land a home run receiver at the same time.

Found another pretty good one.
