THE ASSCLOWN AWARD

« on: November 12, 2023, 02:04:46 pm »

We wanted the Patriots to beat the Colts, which obviously failed because of kicking and quarterbacking.  Jones was benched and Zappe did something really dumb, though it was tough spot anymore.

We want the Packers to beat the Steelers

We want the Titans to beat the Bucs

We want the Lions to beat the Chargers

Everything else is uncertain.

Edit:  Any NFC team that is playing an AFC team, it's in Miami's best interest if the AFC team loses.  The playoffs are wide up this year.

What affect does Titans - Bucs have on Miami. What do we care about that?

I'm not sure that I even agree with any of these.

The Pats/Colts -- I don't really think that affects us.  Sure, you want Pats on paper, but the Colts are a game back.  If we end up losing a playoff spot to the Colts, we weren't making the playoffs anyway.  ...but sure, ok.

Titans/Bucs literally doesn't matter.  On paper, you'd want Titans, since they're AFC, but it makes no difference.

Lions/Chargers -- I think there's a case that you want the Chargers here.  I don't think it matters, really, but having the Chargers in the mix might be good for us, since we're ahead of them in the standings and we beat them head to head, which is essentially a 2 game lead.  It could help us in some tiebreakers scenarios, maybe.  But if the Chargers catch up, we're cooked anyway.

The Steelers are frauds, so I think they very well can drop off.  They have no offense.  We also have an easy stretch of games coming up and we just have to handle our business.
