THE ASSCLOWN AWARD

« on: January 15, 2024, 04:24:09 pm »

I feel like Hamlet.

I went to the gym on Sunday.  Last time, I went there, I contracted Covid.

I have two days off.  I want to donate platelets.

However, I'm afraid if I do, and I have or contract Covid, it could be really bad because donating will temporarily weaken me.

It would be a nice thing to do.  I get really weirded out about that.  I really don't like getting blood drawn -- I wish I was braver, but it's some kind of mental block.  I usually have to tell the nurse when they're doing it, just so she knows I'm a pussy in case I'm going to pass out or something.

But I wouldn't be concerned about the COVID part.  You have gotten vaccinated, you're young, the virus isn't killing at the same rate, and there's things like Paxlovid.  It's worth the risk if you're willing to do it.
