THE ASSCLOWN AWARD

« on: February 01, 2024, 08:37:45 pm »

In 2015, according to my facebook feed, the Colts suggested allowing teams to try a fifty yard field goal for an extra point after converting a two point conversion.

Now THAT would eliminate the standard PAT from the game almost COMPLETELY

I proposed a similar idea that teams get ONE mulligan on a field goal attempt for the entire season.  The strategy would be when the coach decides to use it.

That idea never reached the Commissioner's office.

I hate both ideas.

Just get rid of kicking all together save maybe punts and kickoffs make everyone go for 2 after a TD and just keep it at that I guess no field goals

I like the kicking game now that they have made PAT's longer, it's not a guarantee anymore.  However, since they moved the kickoff point it has made kickoffs useless since everyone kicks it out of the endzone, with the exception of onsides kicks.  Or maybe give the kicking team bonus points if they kick it between the uprights on kickoffs - but this ruins the integrity of the game.
