My birthday is next month and I'm treating myself to a weekend in Cleveland which will include a drive to Canton to visit the Pro Football Hall of Fame.   It's a place I've always wanted to see.   I'm staying in Cleveland because I know that Canton isn't exactly a nice place.   Has anyone here ever been to Cleveland and if so, do they have any recommendations for any other places to see, places to eat, things to do, etc...?

I went to Cleveland when I was in college which was a long time ago so I can't recommend much but the Rock n Roll HoF is there so that might be cool. It wasn't completed when I went.

They have a combo special where you get 20% off if you purchase tickets to both.

I've stayed in Cleveland and loved the Cleveland Zoo. Coming from Orlando I wouldn't think it would be much but we had a great time. I also liked the lakefront where the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is located. Of course, this was like 15 years ago so things could have changed.

I went to Canton while there and was surprised that even my daughters enjoyed it. Definitely worth the day trip.

I went to Dan Marino's (and Steve Young's) HOF induction ceremony back in 2005 with Dave, Brian and a few other TDMMCers up here on this board. I stayed at a little B&B in Avondale on that trip.   I had a blast. We sat by Jose Canseco in the audience during the ceremony.
