Drive-in movies
Good one! We visit the mountain town of Blue Ridge, Ga often and it's always fun to go to their drive-in. Brings back many memories of my youth. I think I was in my late 20s when ours shut down to make room for the new Lowes.

I remember going to the Boulevard Drive In in Deland many times as a kid.   That place was massive.   It had a 400 car capacity.   Sadly, it closed in August 1993.   That massive storm in March 1993 damaged the screen very badly and the owners deemed it too expensive to fix.

Our family lived for a while on Mt Vernon Ave, in Prescott, AZ. Mt Vernon turned into Senator Hwy about 4 blocks south of us, and the Senator Drive-In was about a half mile away. We used to go there at least once a month.

Senator Hwy was also a bitchin street to skateboard down...smooth with decent banks on the turns.  Cool

for me it's not something that's gone so much, but i miss kicking it with my friends and hitting the 2 am steak and shake at the end of the night.

I miss things being open (and having a night-life) in general.  There were Walmarts and Dennys and Bownling Alleys and all kinds of weird stuff operating all night long.  That stuff seems to be pretty much dead since COVID.

During the shutdown, those companies took a look at their revenue streams and cash flows by the hour and decided it wasn't cost efficient staying open all night.   Not to mention you have to pay your graveyard employees a "shift differential".
