The league sent a letter to Sorsby and all 32 NFL teams explaining why it refused to hold a 2026 supplemental draft for him.
Timing & Evidence: The league noted that the petition was filed just three business days before the deadline without any supporting materials. The NFL argued this gave them too short a window to meaningfully review his situation.
Integrity Concerns: The NFL stated they did not have the complete record of the NCAA's investigation into Sorsby's gambling. They noted he had reportedly engaged in "repeated and significant violations," including placing wagers on his own team.
Lack of Accountability: The letter emphasized that the petition did not demonstrate accountability for his conduct or show how he would adhere to the league's rules regarding the integrity of competition.

https://x.com/AdamSchefter/status/2069478343611748532?s=20He’s taken no accountability and is hiding behind the phrase “addiction” which we all know is more of a weakness and a poor choice than a sickness. It’s shameless and a harbinger of poor future decision making and it would be reckless for the NFL to allow him into the league at this point. There's a high chance he does something to harm the integrity of the sport and that would get him banned for life. The best thing to do is keep working out and either get help or maintain a low profile. Go play in the CFL if he can. But by all means, stay away from anything gambling related. Then hopefully by the time the 2027 NFL Draft rolls around, he won't be seen as damaged goods anymore.
