Coach Haftey doesn't care for the 7v7 because of the laziness it creates. He has been doing a lot of 11v11s. His periods are also much longer than the previous. Brian Baldinger says "Coach Hafley is definitely the man for this Team. Straight Talk. Great Insight."

Today was day 3 of training.

Omar Kelly writes "So today was a red zone day for the Dolphins and the offense redeemed themselves a little. This was Malik Willis’ best showing. He scrambled for a TD and threw a couple. Was he GOOD? Not really.

Final play ended with Willis getting sacked by Zach Sieler on a third and goal with win on the line.

Offense also threw two interceptions (Alex Austin and Ethan Robinson)."

Training camp is always two sides of the same coin. 

Does an inception mean the QB made a bad play or the CB made a great play?

If the QB is not getting hurried that might mean a solid o-line or a lackluster d-line. 

I am surprised to hear Hafley has "much longer" practices than McDaniels.  The CBA has very firm limits on how long practice can be.  If McDaniels were much shorter than allowed that would be extremely unusual because most coaches complain the limits are too short.   Unless Hafley is violating the rules, in which case it will bite the Dolphins in the ass once the NFLPA reviews the practice lengths.

I am not at all surprised Hafley is more of a hard nosed coach than McDaniels.  Sometimes that can turn a team around, sometimes it backfires massively.

Exactly. Less people standing around. No matter what Hafley does, he still has to abide by the Union's agreement.

Yesterday was pretty good. Joe Rose said it's amazing how much better many people looked since camp began last week. Players are much more aggressive than in years past.

It is notable that Jacob Rodriguez continues to punch balls out like he did in college, including a two handed hold from Achane that he knocked out. Achane said about Rodriguez ... " he gets the ball a lot. I think he had like the most turnovers, but he gets the ball a lot. And even when we are doing seven-on-seven, you know what I am saying, he always gets the ball. He knows where to be."

It's also been said that now Malik Willis is starting to show why he was paid to come here. He extends plays like no one we've had and has a very strong arm. No one one is saying he will be great, but he is showing some talent that we have not seen.

The pads go on today so it will only get better.

BTW ... I do not expect us to be a great team this year, but I do hope we develop a strong core to build around moving forward and it looks like we are.

The objective this year should be to develop as many young guys as you can, especially the O-Line.  That way, they've got a year under their belts next year when the franchise QB comes into town.

I'm guessing they go receiver unless Chris Bell comes back at the end of the season and plays lights out. I say this assuming Willis or Ewers is going to show they belong behind center. If not, then you may be correct.

Ewers maybe because he's young.  Willis, I see as a stopgap.  He will have to prove me wrong.
