I am getting my ass whooped!! :'(

The score looks a bit wider than it actually is. At least 10 categories are close enough that a good weekend push from your hitters could turn things around easily.

Or, on the flip side<g>, a big weekend push from MY hitters and things could get very damned ugly for you.  I've let my team know that I'd really enjoy seeing an ugly finish. Wink

Don't get me wrong though...I'm not counting any chickens with hatchets over here. I recognize the offensive potential that has had your squad at or near the top of the standings all season. I look up and down your roster and I see a whole lot of pop just looking for a weasel. I'd prefer you keep that box closed until, say...Monday?

Here's your opportunity, Pats2006... Five of my boppers went 0-fer at the plate tonight, including all three of my Indians.  :'(  If you're going to make a move to cut my lead down a bit, this is definitely it. That said, my pitching came up aces again tonight, with Liriano and Nathan throwing 6 scoreless (and important in our case, low WHiP) innings, and likely locking up the wins and saves categories.

Good luck this weekend, chief... Wink

Should be interesting to see how our final score pans out, Pats2006...but the standings definitely get a nice shake-up this week. The top team (you) is losing large and #2 through #5 (me, AZ, CF, Maine) are all winning big. Actually, both CF and I have the chance to match or break your impressive record of 14 points in a week that you set in week 1. Regardless of the final, it looks like I get my first crack at the top of the standings...let's see how long I can hold on to it. Wink

As hot as my squad is right now, the hottest team in the league the past two weeks has got to be CF...who just happens to be my opponent this next week. I'd wish you luck, CF, but I really hate lying to my friends. I'll wish both of our squads good health...zero injuries for either squad this week.  Grin

Thanks for the honesty Stroke. That's got to count for something.  Wink  The truth is my team has been hit or miss this year. I've bounced all over the standings so we'll have to see who shows up this week. Carpenter is probably not going to see any action for the Cards but other than that, I hope for no more injuries to either team!

I noticed that the Cards were calling up Reyes again from AAA to cover some starts...any idea how long Carpenter is headed to the DL for?

Regardless of Carpenter...this week should be a battle for the ages. I need to beat your squad down though... As a claustrophobic, I need a little bit more breathing room at the top before I can really get comfortable. Wink

Also...would someone PLEASE beat the TreeFroggz? Maine hasn't lost a matchup in 6 weeks, and he's starting to make me a wee bit nervous.

On a separate note...if anyone needs OF help, I have some solid hitters available. Going from most valuable to least (imo), I am putting Bobby Abreu, Coco Crisp and Jeff Francoeur on the trade block. Looking for pitching mainly, or maybe combine one of those guys with one of my SS's for an upgrade at that position.

Joe Tex ... Good trading with ya.

I am still a little in shock that the heart of our offense, Travis Hafner, won't be with us any more, and losing our best closer and second best starter means I go back to waivers to try and rebuild our pitching staff...again, but at least my offense is about where I think it needs to be.

Now, "hopefully" Young will do what Bay did...explode immediately upon hitting the Padres roster.

Sometimes,I just out think myself...After the 14 innin gmarathon late lastnight,I kind of assmumed that M.Barrett probably wouldn't be in the line up...I took Aramis Ramirez out of the line up....Aramis just hit a Grand slam......Ohh well...The Cubs are winning early....

(half serious,half tongue in cheek)
So does anyone have a Slumping player they want to get hot real fast? It seems when I offer someone a trade for that player...all the sudden they get hot...So let me know who need warmed up...I send you a trade proposal...you can reject it.. within a a day or so of the trade offer your player will go on a little hot streak....

Sorry Stroke,I'm imposing a 1 week delay on this offer to you...You don't need nay help this week....

I have no idea which offer you're talking about...but I can flip it and say the same thing about players I trade away. I trade Hafner to Joe and he goes off for a grand salami and 6 RBI's. I trade Felipe Lopez...and he pops out of his recent funk to go 4 for 5.

Your Cubbies provided all the pop last night, Lil_B...but I'm thinking that the chi-town bats will cool down a little as the week goes on. If not, I may have to talk to the MLB schedule maker and ask if we can slip in another quick 3-game Padres-Cubs series for this week. Wink
