Confessions of a Midnight Breakdancer
-----

I've told lies about sleeping, and now must confess,
Why my body's all sweaty and hair is a mess.

See, I've said in the past I was dreaming of you,
But as much as it should be, that isn't quite true.

I try to and want to, but just don't have the time.
'Cause I'm spending the night with the rhythm and rhyme.

For as teacher is done preaching loves latest lesson,
I lay down my head for a breakdancing session.

The boombox starts thumping. My heart is the beat.
You lay there, unknowing, all snuggled and sweet.

I do robots and backspins, the famed catterpiller,
Dancing 'round in your bed, like the zombies from Thriller.

My head matted and curled, like a girl's promnight perm:
all the evidence left from my doing the worm.

The wet silhouette of my sweat taints your bed.
Your pillow is soaked where I've spun on my head.

The clock sings like a rooster. I call it a jerk.
I roll over to kiss you and send you to work.

You won't speak of the night, you won't jot in your journal,
Since you don't know you've shared it with MC Nocturnal.

So if I see you tonight, I will love you and then...
I'll be closing my eyes, just to do it again.

I drink your milkshake!
