The last three pairs of sneakers I've bought have each been from a different store.

The first was DSW warehouse. The selection seemed almost overboard and the prices were very high.

The second was Payless. The prices were right, but the section for size 11 and 12 was disorganized and I rate the selection for those sizes fair.

Target has one long isle for easy viewing. The prices are low and they have quality brands like Champion. They also had a great selection for my sizes. Overall I'm very satisfied.

As a side note, I went there with my wife to get her some maternity clothes. She didn't find a single thing that would fit her.

Any store that doesn't carry a good selection size 14 shoes is disqualified, in my book.  That being said, there are no good shoe stores, as far as I'm concerned.  The best "store", to me, is Zappos.com

I always get my shoes at the Nike or Reebok Outlet store at the Golden Isles Factory Outlets in Darien, GA.

The prices are generally low for quality, cool looking name brand shoes.  Plus they always have a special.... buy two pairs, get one free.  So I end up spending less than $100 on three pairs of shoes.  At a Foot Locker or Athlete's Foot, $100 won't even buy you one pair of shoes half the time.

I've started buying my shoes online.  You can get pretty good deals that way.  I stopped wearing sneakers for anything other than athletics a long time ago.  The most casual shoes I have (that aren't specifically for playing sports) are Vans...or some casual Converse or something.

Since I'm a running shoe freak (not to walk around in, to actually run in), nothing beats zappos.com.  They sale all the latest running shoes at pretty decent prices.

I've found that Foot Locker and places like that don't know anything about running shoes.  They feature way to many Nikes for my taste.

don't you people like to try stuff on before you but it?

I can't see buying something as variable as shoes on the internet...

What store would I find the shoes I'm looking for at besides the running shoe stores in the area?  And, if it's a rare shoe, they won't have it either. If they do have it, it's really over priced.

I'm right there with you,I walk in to the store and say what do you have in a 14?
I don't bother looking at what's on the rack,because If i like it,they typically don't have it in a 14-15.

I agree completely, this was my answer when I started the "Things you wont buy online."

I've found shoes that say they're size 14,and the arch is right under my heel,or right near my toes.

I haven't bought a pair of shoes in nearly two years now,so they better last.I tend to go to Shoe carnival,The other two stores I went to went out of business.

I understand why you'd be hesistant about getting shoes online.

...you could get a pair that are uncomfortable, I suppose...but you save so much money that even if you get a crappy pair (which I haven't yet), you still come out way on top.

I typically go to Rack Room Shoes in the mall, when they have buy-one-get-one half off.  So I'll buy 2 pairs for like $60-70 total.  To me that's a good enough deal.  I'll have to see how cheap this web site is, I might give it a shot, since I need new "normal" shoes.

There is no website.  Usually I just wait for something to pop up on slickdeals.net or something, and if I like them, I get them.

I don't see how an unconfortable pair of shoes that I bought cheap equals coming out on top. I will forfeit price for comfort any day.

I went to Zappos and looked at a couple pairs of shoes I know the price on. I did not see any discount at all.

OK, I just went to see what all the fuss was about...

zappos.com, just used this as a point of reference to see how great their prices are...

Sketchers Sport - I wear these as nice "everyday wear" shoes for casual use.  I don't wear them to work, only like on weekends or in the gym or something.

They are ~$50 at Rack Room Shoes in the mall.

On your site, they're on sale for $50.95.

So, where are all the great prices?

I bought these a few days ago:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0007MFHUY/103-9708943-8129466?%5Fencoding=UTF8&v=glance
You have to pick the black ones...which I got.

I paid 30 bucks, free shipping.

They are now back to being 90 on Amazon.
