I still say nay,nay....He's 28 so he's younger than Ricky, yet he will want a boatload of money...I say go through the draft,or a cheap free agent. The main reason I didn't mind keeping Ricky, because his talent, waay exceeded his salary.

Ricky wasn't the Main Man anymore,if he did (what he ended up doing),it wasn't near the big of a deal.In a sense I'm glad the Ricky saga is over, for now atleast.

I'd still love to have Edge, but I still don't think its a smart move for the future of the team.

I think we'll end up getting a Willie Parker type like Travis Minor to back up Ronnie, and Ronnie will get 300+ carries this season.  He can handle it.  At least he knows early that he has to condition himself early...

Suddenly, picking up Edge makes a lot more sense.

KAY JAY HARRIS is already a dolphin, a player that would have been a day one pick if it werent for his age.

I know you don't mean that, because thats just stupid, I did think we had a scum-back position.  If we need anyone robbed, we'll give mo a call.

Why?  Do you realize that Miami would have over 40 million in two back if they signed Edge?

Miami does not need a starter.   They will need a back up & I think KJ Harris can probably fill the void as a backup.

I think he can be a quality back up.   Nothing special, but someone that you can use to give Brown a rest from time to time.

As little sense as getting Edge was before -- I think it makes less sense now.  At least before, we had the trade value of Ricky...with that lost, Edge's cost to the team would be far too great.

I do think, with Ronnie showing a little problem with injuries last year, that getting a serviceable backup RB would be a good idea. Edge isn't the answer though. Maybe Miami looks at one of the two Ravens RBs on FA, Jamal Lewis or Chester Taylor. Maybe they could look at a guy that I really think would be a decent backup, Houston's Jonathan Wells. There will also be some decent 2nd-4th round RBs in the draft, should Nick decide to go that direction.

Bringing in Edge makes about as much sense as bringing in Ray Lewis.  Edge would cost way too much to be a backup runner.  There will be some good backs in the later rounds of draft if Coach Saban wants to go that direction.  Either Tennessee's Gerald Riggs Jr. or LSU's Joseph Addai.

Why do we suddenly need two top tier running backs to compete?  Having two last year was something most NFL teams never get a whiff of.  I'm confused why people would want to spend so much money carrying two top flight backs and wasting that cap space.  Ronnie Brown and a suitable backup (a Travis Minor type) is more than fine.

Worry more about the defensive secondary and defensive line.  Last time I checked we ran the ball pretty well and couldn't stop the run to save our lives last season.  Heath freaking Evans put up over 100 yards on us last season.

I agree, which is why I'd love to see Miami get someone like Jonathan Wells on the cheap. We need someone who will at least be serviceable, simply based off Ronnie having some small injury problems last year...and I think Wells is serviceable enough to step in for a short period if Brown goes down, and decent enough to use him as a change of pace back to give Brown in-game breathers.

Something on the cheap is key though... Miami has far more important need areas to spend its money and high draft picks on.
