I don't know if you guys do this but everytime (not that often) I'm  next to someone taller than me, I always end up sizing them up. Not in a bad way, just you know, just checking out the competition so to say.

When I was interviewing for a job 6 years ago, I developed a little mental edge versus my interviewers.  I convinced myself that no matter what they asked me, and no matter how stupid they made me feel, when it came down to it I could just stand up and kick their asses.  This approach worked well until the 3rd interview came up and a 6'10 dude walked through the door.  I was a little stunned at first.  But after talking with him for a few minutes and hearing how soft spoken he was, I decided I could probably kick his ass too.

Yeah, I do that, and that's part of the reason I asked if it bothers anyone when they're not the tallest guy in the room.  I only rarely come out of the "sizing up" process thinking "this guy could tear me limb from limb" very often, so it's a little disconcerting when It happens.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that does this.  Here I thought I was insane.

I rarely see people that are my height or over 6 feet. Even if someone is shorter than me, but over 6 feet, it seems that I'm looking up at them because I'm not looking down as far as I usually do. Its a strange sensation.
