2011 NFC East Champions!

« on: February 26, 2006, 02:02:04 am »

I have just about had it with eMule.

This program sucks, OK?  I don't care that 100 servers can pull up within 10 seconds, or that it has 4,000 options - downloading files is HORRIBLE with it.

I can search for the most popular song in America, and I can get 100 listings, but NONE OF THEM WILL DOWNLOAD, EVER.  And when one finally does download, it downloads at less than 2.50 K / M.  I can leave my computer running without turning it off for 3 days straight, and come back to find that 1 freaking song out of 200 queued up have been downloaded...and then the file is corrupt and the sound quality is horrible.

WinMX used to be the shit.  Every song or file i've ever wanted would come up by the dozens, and a shit-ton of them would be immediately available for download.

So - what the hell programs do you people use?  If you do use eMule and love it - how the hell does it work?

Winmx is still around, you have to change some directory.....I've got it...don't use it...Not enough people on it anymore...

I've reccomended Shareaza...
it takes awhile to get search results sometimes...But it does let you preview most things on the fly.

I had the exact same problem with Emule Jtex...I finally found something I wanted, but after 5 days waiting in que, sharing a million files...to get 1.5 MB of a 30 mb file.

So, OF COURSE, as soon as i bitch about it, I successfully download 3 files in a row, one of them downloaded at a retarded 89 +/- K/M.

Great.

Some stupid questions here...

Isn't downloading files risking due to viruses?
Isn't it illegal?
If I'm looking for something very specific how do I find out if it's available?

There is a search feature, shareaza, seperates things by what type of file, application,Music,Movie, book, video, rom,ETC,ETC.

The other thing I like about shareaza it allows you to download bit torrents...I've never been able to do it with any application, including this ons...but it's capable of doing it....

Jtex, how much do yu share on eMule. It ranks you and that's how you get your download.  Let me know what your rating is and see if you can boost it.

I've had a lot of luck with eMule. I use it for whole albums though.

For single songs, Ares is the way to go.

Yes, it is absolutely illegal. Copyright infringment like a maw-f**ker. However, usually you will only be prosecuted for your actions if you have a substantial stash of media on your computer. That means, if you want to preview a CD, you could download all the songs for it, and then delete them, and most likely nothing would happen. But should you have a motherload of files on your HD, then watch out (and purchase a good firewall).

Thanks for the info!

What?  Clear, concise answers?  What's to hate about that?

There is a search feature, shareaza, seperates things by what type of file, application,Music,Movie, book, video, rom,ETC,ETC.
So I have to download the program first to use the search feature?  I doubt that anyone has made episodes of the animated Buzz Lightyear cartoon available so it's probably just another wild goose chase.

Dude...EVERYTHING is available.

People (crazy people) go into movie theaters, secretly record the movie from the theater, and an hour later it's on the web.  People are insane about file sharing, movie making and mp3 burning - all it takes is some patience to search for it, but I guarantee it's out there on someone's server.

I use Limewire for music (though I have pretty much everything I want, as I don't listen to current music) and Azureus (BitTorrent) for things like TV shows and movies.

What network is Limewire?

On shareaza,I get things from Bearshare,Limewire, and  Edonkey...I've never gotten anything from there...(that I Know of)

When I start t Shareaza,it connect to the Gnutella 2 &1 networks.

I'm just curious....
