Adeltery sucks, but it shouldn't be illlegal.

As for text sex....I'd dump my girlfriend if she was doing it -- not because it's wrong, but because she's a huge dork.  "OMG, ur 8==D is 1337"

Literally laughed out loud.

wow that was clever, are you letting your "child" come up with your insults these days? Lets see why don't you insult me about my job, or my girlfriend again,I've never seen you say that before , and speaking of jobs, how's tax evasion working out for you I'm suprised you haven't been locked away yet for being such a lovely moral individual, well if anyone considers a gamble-holic druggie tax evading scumbag an upstanding individual. Just a little advice, you need to turn your life around dude. Karmas a motherfucker, and if you don't pay for your disgusting lifestyle, it doesn't mean others that you care about(yeah like they exist, you'd sell your own child if the price was right) will.

Funniest sh#t I've seen all day.  I'm not one to advocate drug use, but I think you could use a bong hit or two.  If you go off like that on this MB, I'm scared you might snap and kill someone in the real world.

ever think that maybe why I vent my frustration online?  Evil  Keeps me from losing my cool in the real world, but see that wasn't even me "going off" I was just making an observation.  Denver is a very simple minded creature, and he also suffers from delusions of grandeur, he also has a huge fan in dave, so I think he could probably anally rape daves mother and dave would still worship the ground he walks on  Grin

Adultery definitely shouldn't be illegal.  There are enough consequences involved already.

In regard to cyber sex, I think it's on another level. If I found out the wife was screwing another guy, it would be immediate grounds for divorce. If I found out she was involved in a cyber relationship with someone, I would want to know why (i.e. she doesn't love me anymore, she's rebelling etc.). That's something I would work through as long as she stopped.

Unless it was another woman, in which case I'd invite the bitch over for some tea and crumpets and get it on like donky kong.

There are some many doors that cheating opens...it's not even funny.  From a pure physical safety issue, let me explain why adultery SHOULD be illegal:

There are instances were an STD can be transmitted to someone through other instances OTHER than sex.

Sorry let's say there is a married dude and he gets his wife pregnant.  Married dude screws "someone else."  Someone else tells married dude that "she's clean."  Well - it turns out that "someone else" didn't notice that lesion inside her and passes syphilis along to the married guy.  Unlike the horror stories that they tell you in junior high sex ed, not all STDs will bring about symptoms.  So a couple days later - married guy has what he thinks is the 24 hour flu.  All better.  Than a week later he has this rash thing on his hands.  It doesn't hurt, goes away in a day or so.  Married guy thinks it's from the laundry detergent or something along those lines.

Nope.  Married guy had classic symptoms of one of several STDs, including HIV.  But in this case, let's stick to syphilis.

So married guy makes love to his wife and passes along said syphilis to Mom / wife.  Mom / wife also doesn't show symptoms and she's at 6 months.  IE - no more blood tests until the baby is born.  Syphilis passes to baby and they discover it when the baby is born with severe birth marks and is partially blind.

See - married guy, "someone else," and mom / Wife can go and get shots and clear up the syphilis.  The little baby that did nothing wrong?  Yep, that little one will be dealing with daddy's cheating ways her entire life.

Mom / Wife can leave.  That poor baby?  What can she do?  And what if syphilis isn't just syphilis?  What if married guy passed along HIV?

I love my wife.  Hurting her would be something that I would never get over.  Putting her life, or someone else's life, at risk is something that is simply not forgiveable and should be a crime.

If you're married and you want to have cyber sex with someone else, get a divorce.  If you're married and want to text message sex crap with someone else, get a divorce.  And if you're married and you have the slightest inkling that you are going to sleep with someone else - MAN UP AND GET A DIVORCE.

Give your spouse the dignity of HONESTY.  Cheating sucks, under ANY circumstances.  Vows.  Remember those?

No way this should be illegal.

People are free to F whomever they want, married or not.  Marriage is a contract.  If you F someone else while in a contract, you're simply breaking the clauses and rules set forth therein.

Now what if you're a married couple who likes to swing?
What if your husband doesn't give a F? (Sunstroke's case)
What if your wife doesn't give a F?
What if you designate 1 day of the year as "F someone else" day, and you have at it?

Adultery is a private issue, and should be handled privately.  Personally I don't see the big deal - honest.  If you're married, and your wife goes and F's someone else, just get a divorce - end of story.  Or if you don't a shit, say you're gonna F someone of your choice to "even the score" and move on.

Welcome to the real world people, a lot of married people screw around in this country, get used to it.

Denver_Bronco will you please take that figure skating fag off of your signature?  Some dude just walked into my office at work and saw like three pictures in a row of that fairy dude.  Now I'm getting ragged on by all  the guys.

y'all are gonna call me a raging pussy, but I don't care.

The bigger problem is people getting married in the first place.  If you have the desire to cheat on your spouse, you probably shouldn't have gotten married in the first place.  People are too quick to run down the aisle these days, and don't take it seriously anymore cause as Maine said, they can just get a divorce if they change their mind or fight about the color of paint in the berdoom.

The divorce rate has been climbing, and no one cares.  I'm not advocating working through a cheater.  I'm saying that if your spouse is "worth marrying," you should WANT to cheat.

What do you guys think? Is adultery bad? Or is it ok in some cirumstances? Should there be laws against it?

Bad? Yes.
Wrong? Always.
OK in some circumstances? Never.
Laws against it? Hell no. Social ethics laws are unconstitutional.

I'm with Maine on this one (well, mostly).  I don't necessarily think it should be illegal; there's civil punishment galore for adultery.  However, people who dismiss the effects of cheating simply have not thought about how they'd feel if they were cheated on, or how their actions affect other people. It's not as simple as "kick the bum out" or "just get a divorce".  Sometimes, there're kids involved.  How do you explain your actions to your kids?

I've always thought that the qualities that make for a noble man include keeping his word and honoring a contract.  Strictly from that standpoint, what kind of man violates the most important contract he'll ever sign by cheating on his wife?  I don't get it.
