I thought it has to be a guy who's not type-cast into a type of role.  I was thinking like Chris O'Donnell.  Grow him a bit of stubble and a band-aid on his face and he can pull off the action hero role.  Brendan Frasier would be OK too, but I didn't think he was all that believable in The Mummy.  Another guy that might pull it off is Matthew Fox.  I think he'd be great for that role...

Ironically enough, when we watched The Mummy, my wife mentioned him for Indiana Jones. I still see him as too goofy of an actor. I think it would be best if it was an "unknown" actor. But if they went with a "name" actor, what about Matthew Fox who plays Jack on Lost? He kinda has the rugged adventurer thing going on.

I was thinking Jack on Lost or the captain from that movie Serenity. Don't know why but he seems to be intelligent enough, rugged, and in his 30s.

Yeah, that guy looks like he'd make a good Indy, just imagine him with the fedora on in this shot....

The actor from the Young Indiana Jones chronicles is probably old enough now to take over.

That is the exact same photo I was thinking about. Yup, throw a fedora on his head, give him the 5 o'clock shadow, toss him a whip and he's ready.

Sean Patrick Flannery played the 16 year old Indy in the series. Heres a great shot of him now, almost looking like Indiana Jones....

The hardest part of Indy is not his rugged side -- it's the intellect part of him.  It's tough to get an actor who can pull off the professor, while still not being a pussy.

Hey in Batman they made Katie Holmes a District Attorney, which was a far stretch. IMO

True...and everyone says that that was horrible casting.  ...plus, she wasn't the title character.

What about Matthew Mconaghey(spelling?) or Paul Walker? They're in every other movie.

Nathan Fillion totally rocks...I'd love to see him playing Indy.  Grin

Interesting bit part...He also played "the other" Private Ryan in the movie "Saving Private Ryan." The one that Tom Hanks and his crew mistakenly told that his brothers were dead.

Batman Begins, far and away, crushes any of the other Batman films.

paul walker SUCKS....he's a horrendous actor.  and as for McConaughey, he already plays Indiana Jones - in the movie Sahara.
