What a piece of crap.  I HOPE he sits out on Wednesday, too, so they can bench him for the whole season.  That would be awesome.

I just read the update for this on Sportsline.  It was the longest player update in the history of Sportsline.

This, just one day after I drafted Soriano as my starting 2B in one of my fantasy leagues.  Boo...

I think  this is funny,The Cubs, wanted Soriano, but they didn't go after him harder, because it was put out there...He wouldn't switch to the outfield...

the guy is a good defensive second baseman, I don't know why everyone wants to move him to OF.  I wouldn't want to move either.  Outfielders just stand there for most of the game.

They want him to switch because they already have an all-star calibur second baseman with a higher batting average last season. Baseball players need to learn a couple positions in my opinion anyway.

Well then you don't trade for him. Especially when he publicly said he was unwilling to switch positions for the last 2 years now. In this situation I side with Soriano personally.

I totally agree.  You have a good 2B, then why you trading for a 2B?  You shoulda had that conversation before you made the deal, now you're gonna suffer.  Its like the Dolphins signing Lavar Arrington and saying "we already have Zach, can you play WR?"

They just wanted his bat, and he has good speed, but either plan to move the guy you have, or make sure the new guy is willing to move before you pull the trigger.

Here's the better question - if Christian Guzman ends up missing significant time, do they let Soriano play SS, or do they go with that bum Royce Clayton?  That seems like a no brainer to me.

I just read this in an article on MLB.com

During the game, Bowden indicated that Soriano will be given a second chance to play the outfield on Wednesday afternoon against the Cardinals in Jupiter, Fla. If Soriano refuses to play the outfield that day, Bowden said the team most likely will put him on the disqualified list without pay.

Stay tuned, we'll see what happens Wednesday.

I just don't get this.

Craig Biggo played like 48 different positions, and was great at all of them.  Outfield, 2nd Base, Catcher, Bat Boy, Beer Guy.....

Why can't Soriano do it?

Cuase he's a woman.

I think he's scared of being exposed as a bum.  I suspect he'll quit his whining and be in left field Wednesday.  If he's not, he gets sent to the unemployment line.

He should go to the outfield and shank every ball hit his way.

I think you might be thinking of Alfonso SomebodyElse... because Alfonso Soriano is arguably one of the worst fielding infielders in baseball. It's why people keep trying to get him to move to the OF...fewer chances to gack. He actually sucks pretty badly with the glove in the outfield as well...

He can hit like a monster though...despite what his road splits from last season may say.  Wink

Defensively he is the worst fielding second baseman in the last 50 years of MLB. He averages roughly an error every 7 games and a 91% fielding percentage.

One of the few things that you and I agree completely on...  Wink
