I think its a foregone conclusion that the following players at areas of need--A.J. Hawk, D'Brickashaw Ferguson, Michael Huff, Jimmy Williams, and Winston Justice--will be gone by pick 16.  That leaves the following with first round talent:

OT

Eric Winston-Miami (Fl)
Marcus McNeill-Auburn
Daryn Colledge-Boise State

OG

Max Jean-Gilles-Georgia
Davin Joseph-Oklahoma

C

Nick Mangold-Ohio State

OLB

Chad Greenway-Iowa
Ernie Sims-Florida State
DeMeco Ryans-Alabama

S

Donte Whitner-Ohio State
Ko Simpson-South Carolina
Jason Allen-Tennessee

CB

Tye Hill-Clemson
Kelly Jennings-Miami (Fl)
Ashton Youboty-Ohio State
Jonathan Joseph-South Carolina
Antonio Cromartie-Florida State
Alan Zemaitis-Penn State
Charles Gordon-Kansas
Richard Marshall-Fresno State

If in fact all of the players I think will be gone are gone, who would you pick?  One of the players at a position of need, or the best available player period?  My choice is Ko Simpson to play FS, as I don't see Travares Tillman as the answer and I think Ko could come in and immediately contribute.  (Can someone tell me how to make a poll?  I don't know how and I want to make one.)

I tend to disagree there.  Ferguson will most definitely be gone at #16, but Williams, Huff, Youboty, and Justice could still be around.  One of them is sure to be there.

Additionally, some of these guys you listed won't even go on day 1 let alone round 1.

Like who? The players toward the bottom are projected to go Rounds 1-2-3.

Jennings, Cromartie (and that's painful cuz I'm an FSU fan), and Allen.

I've seen tons of mocks with those three going in the bottom half of round one, and how do I make a poll?

Only the mods can make polls.  If you want to see a poll added to this thread, PM Philly, Dave, or Brian.

I honestly don't see Jennings, Allen, or Marshall going and earlier than round 3.  Additionally, Cromartie is coming off knee surgery and is a huge risk.

If you're talking about potential first round safties.  Then you should include USC's Darnell Bing and LSU's Laron Landry.

Eric Winston.  I will not change my opinion that this is the guy we need to take.

I want us to grab a corner - I'm hearing mixed reports on Jimmy Williams out of Va Tech.  Some people have him as high as #1 CB and other people have him #5 or #6.

He's not even on JMoney's list.

What's the deal with this kid?

Jimmy Williams is a top-tier CB...he just had a bit of an attitude during the combine. If he is there at #16, I'd be glad to see him in aqua. If E-Winston is there at #16, I'd be happy to see him in aqua. If one of the prospects higher in the order slips to #16 because of positional considerations (W-Justice, B-Bunkley), I'd love to see them in aqua as well. Miami needs more playmakers...period. I'd prefer to see a DB or an OT, because then we'd get a playmaker at a primary need position, but the "playmaker" to me is more important than "fitting the need."

I also think that Jimmy Williams is the guy we take.  I see him slipping to our spot in most mocks.

He is on the list - as someone that will be gone by #16.

OL or DB will make me happy.  Jimmy Williams (doubtful we get a shot), Tye Hill, Winston Justice -- any of those will do.

Cutler if he drops Cheesy
