Product Review: PaperMate PhD Multi Pen

I bought this pen - it was something like $13.

I'd never spend that much on a writing utensil, but I thought it was pretty cool, because it's a mechanical pencil, black pen, and red pen all in one.

I have used the PhD mechanical pencil since college (same one) and I love it.  I have also used their pens in the past.  So, I figure that I'd get one, since I don't really lose stuff, now that I work by myself, and don't have any office-supply thiefs.

Being in sales, its important to always have a good pen. I may have to pick one of these up.

I use red pens more than most of you, probably, for marking up prints and drawings and what not.  I am always a fan of a good pen - get one good one and use it until it literally falls apart.

But, $13?  people - let's be reasonable.

(although, I have paid $9 for a mechanical pencil and I've been using it for damn near 10 years.  Best investment ever)

I have a $120 Montblanc pen that I never use.  That is too much for a writing utensil.  $13 is more reasonable if it is comfortable and you won't lose it.

Dave, is it gel ink or ball point?  What size lead in the pencil?

I don't know what kind of ink -- but it has both black and red.  The quality of the pen is good.  I'm a stickler for that.

The pencil is .5 mm.

Neat design but I can not justify spending 13 dollars on a pen. I have a ton of pens lying around and I lose stupid small shit like this too much to drop 13 dollars on it.
