Looking mostly at you, Maine....

I'd like to hear from the resident baseball experts how you think my fantasy teams round out this season.

Team 1: Cellar Dwellers
C - Jason Kendall, Mike Piazza
1B - Shea Hillenbrand, Ryan Howard
2B - Tad Iguchi, Craig Biggio
3B - Miguel Cabrera, Troy Glaus
SS - Miguel Tejada, Bobby Crosby
OF - Juan Pierre, Wily Taveras, Pat Burrell, Lance Berkman
SP - Pedro Martinez, Curt Schilling, Jon Papelbon, Jason Schmidt, Matt Morris, Dontrelle Willis
RP - Chris Ray, Billy Wagner, Eric Gagne

Team 2: South Florida Stealth
C - Jason Kendall, Javy Lopez
1B - Todd Helton, Shea Hillenbrand
2B - Luis Castillo, Alfonso Soriano
3B - Eric Chavez, Chipper Jones
SS - Derek Jeter, Bobby Crosby
OF - Carl Crawford, Jim Edmonds, Shawn Green, Jeremy Hermida, Jason Lane, Scott Podsednik, Aaron Rowand, Randy Winn
SP - Dan Haren, Jason Schmidt Chris Capuano, Oliver Perez, Johan Santana, Barry Zito, Kerry Wood, Curt Schilling
RP - Francisco Cordero, Todd Jones, Huston Street, Eric Gagne

I know there are alot of player similar on both teams, but hey, they were drafted by the same person.

So, what do you think?

Good cause that's not a stat category.  Its all about what he does with a bat.

uhh...nevermind, I don't wanna know what he does with a bat. Wink

What size are the leagues? Are they h2h or roto? Saber, traditional or 5x5 scoring?

I like these squads...but can't really rate them without knowing the league size/set-up.

Team 1 is a 5x5 setup but its 8x7.  We're crazy like that.  10 team league, 24 man rosters.

Team 2 is a H2H setup, 8 teams, 30 man rosters.  This draft was insanely easy.

Yikes, team 2 is lacking the longball dude. Crawford & Castillo should swipe a nice amount of bases though. Todd Jones should be dropped.

Todd Jones is on the borderline.  For a H2H scoring league, I need the longball, you're right.  More bases = more points.  I went with the speed lineup, then realized that SB = 1 pt.  I can only hope to get alot of 2B's and 3B's out of them....

Castillo is likely my backup, since I can still use Soriano at 2B

I'm not in the TDMMC league cause I had already committed to these 2 leagues, and I can't handle 3.  Football, yes, I just don't watch enough baseball.

I'll add this one up here, for two reasons...first, it is my last draft of this season, and second...I just love this roster<g>. It's an 8 team, 5x5 h2h. I stream starters and went with offense (obviously) with my first 8 picks (and 12 of first 15). I do like a lot of the mid-late rd pitchers, but this was mainly due to a lot of offensive guys I like dropping well below where I value them.

"Around the Horn of Plenty" roster...with draft slot in parentheses:

C: Victor Martinez (52)
1B: Mark Teixeira (4), Ryan Howard (45)
2B: Ricky Weeks (100), Ryan Freel (157)
SS: Jose Reyes (29), Felipe Lopez (93)
3B: Eric Chavez (61)
OF: Carl Crawford (13), Bobby Abreu (20), Adam Dunn (36), Ken Griffey jr (109), Pat Burrell (116), Curtis Granderson (164), Willy Tavares (173)

SP: Randy Johnson (77), Doug Davis (148), Daniel Cabrera (180), Matt Cain (189), F. Liriano (196)
RP: Eric Gagne (68), Derrick Turnbow (84), Jose Valverde (125), M. Gonzalez (132), R. Dempster (141)
