Panel of guests on the "Real Time With Bill Maher" Show

I don't know shit about politics, or "world news". 

But i like Bill Maher, now that he's been on HBO and isn't a pussy like he had to be on ABC.  It makes me feel somehow as if I'm "caught up" as to what's going on, even if i'm not really paying attention to the show and it's just on in the background, like right this second as I'm typing this post.

His show has always the same three types of guests:

1. A Democratic Government leader, congressman, or senator
2. A very aggressive republican author or former washington bureaucrat
3. Some actor or comedian who doesn't know jack shit, but is very democratic and very anti-Bush, and will always always always get a "cheap pop" out of the crowd by either saying "George Bush is {some insult}" or "The war needs to stop...NOW!"

The whole show is set up so that Bill maher and the two Democratic guests gang up on the lone Republican, and with the crowd eating it all up, make the Republican dude sound ridiculous, even when he makes a good point.

This week Ben Affleck, a total pansy, is the stupid actor who doesn't know shit is on the panel.  Hearing him argue with his high-pitched, fast pussy voice makes me want to beat the shit out of something.  Which reminds me, I hate Ben Affleck, Justin Timberlake, and all these other vagina's who consider themselves "men", when they're total wusses and would get their ass kicked at anytime.

ANYWAYS...i would like to see Maher change the type of panel around for once.  Maybe play Devil's Advocate for a show and have an all-republican panel.  Or an all independent panel who all are against Reps and Dems.  Or all women.  Something different.  You can't just have Michael Moorer, Seth Green, and John Kerry on the show every week.

i like him in the fact that he speaks his mind, and is aware of the rampant corruption in our current gov't.

i dont like how sometimes he "bill o'reilly's" people....in essence if he can't make a logical counter to an argument, hee resists to the third grade tactic of attacking the messenger and dismissing all relevant info.

i also dislike that the other day on his show, someone brought up the 9/11 truth movement (the fact that the gov't orchestrated the attacks), and he basicallly shut down and tried to change the subject.  he didnt ridicule them, but felt very unconfortable discussing the subject.  i wish he would have the courage like some other prominent people have had lately

Bill doesn't bash on his guests and really gives them a chance to speak. if you watch his show, and don't listen to how people describe the show, you will notice that he continually asks his audience to give his Republican guests a chance. I missed the Friday night show though.

I took an completely different take on Tony's viewing of the 9/11 conspiracy though. He didn't shy away from it. He basically called the guest crazy and moved on because I don't think he nor the majority of this country give any credit to it.

If this is directed at me, I watch his show every single week, and have been for a few years since he's been on HBO.

He asks the audience "Oh come on, don't boo", or when they start applauding, he tells them "no stop applauding".  He lets people speak, yes, but you could be Prof. Stephen Hawking, and will sound like you don't know squat when the other 2 panel members, the host of the show, and then the entire audience automatically is against you because you have an "R" next to your name.

It wasn't directed at you, it was a general statement. I do know we have discussed his show before though and people on the board were admittedly not watching, but were also bashing the show. I don't see how you can do both.

I agree it is typically the scenario you describe, but being an independent myself (with liberal leanings) I do see good points brought up by his Republican guests . I have also seen him agree with them, much to everyone's dismay. It may be me, but lately it looks like there has been an effort to change the perception of the show by balancing Bill's role a bit.

The fact? Where was it proven that it was a fact? The facts say that terrorists hijacked jets and flew them into the WTC and Pentagon. I love how some people take their misguided opinion and word it with "fact"

the "facts" of the official report says that.  the facts of science, audio, video, and eyewitnesses do not lie like the gov't does.  as a matter of fact, this wasn't the first time our gov't has attacked, or allowed to be attacked, its own people to further their political agendas.  its pretty obvious what really happened that day when you do the research yourself.  the official report (which bush was beaten and forced by the 9/11 widows into doing) has a billion glaring omissions and lies. 

for people to blindly take that "official" fairy tale and believe it is understandable, but if you look into it deeper, and/or were there that day (as i was), its quite obviuos to see whats really wrong.

i've been researching this forever now, but this isn't the proper forum to discuss such a thing.  if you want to be enlightened, i can give you a basic rundown of the irrefutable facts...just email or IM me.

i know you guys dont get the NYC media coverage that i get up here but the 9/11 truth movement is gaining rapid momentum...everyones buzzing about it up here.  it finally started to crack the mainstream news, receiving some airtime and even a few periodical articles about it.  every day more and more offical and prominent people come forward with their support for it; the dam will burst in a few more weeks or months.

Just to clarify, is that the same New York media we keep hearing about fabricating stories, and in the latest turn blackmailing citizens? Not everything in New York is really better than it is everywhere else.

i'm not talking about those kind of sites.  its quote obviuos you're not well-educated on this issue, otherwise you wouldnt be saying that.  like i said, the evidence is overwhelming, and science doesnt lie.

and its not like its a few crackpots....its a much larger scale.  and you cannot discount the amount of prominent people backing the truth movement.

what i meant is that this is the area most affected by the tragedy and it also has the most first-hand knowledge of the events that day.  also, this is where most of the 9/11 related lawsuits are taking place, so new information's always coming out.  also, the "average joe" is more aware of the truth movement up in this area than in other places around the country, because like i said, it just started spreading rapidly up here.  it will take time for it to sprea.
