Konami Bracket:

Ms. Pac Man (1981, Arcade)
Midway

When you think of the word “arcade”, you think of Ms. Pac Man.  Introduced as the follow-up to “Pac Man” by Midway in 1981, Ms. Pac Man revolutionized the gaming industry as we know it today.  Not only can a Ms. Pac Man arcade machine be found in almost every city in the United States, it has sold more copies and game licenses than any other video game in history, by far.  Ms. Pac Man = 25 years old, and still going strong.

VS.

WCW/NWO: Revenge (1998, Nintendo 64)
THQ, Asmik Ace Ent.

“WCW/NWO: World Tour” introduced wrestling fans to a unique 3D look at their sport, with all of the pomp and circumstance that you’d expect, but not until its sequel, “WCW/NWO Revenge”, with enormous official rosters, a variety of game modes, and balance, was it legendary.  While latter games in the series were slight improvements graphically, none could capture the appeal and ambiance of the WCW/NWO feud like “Revenge.”

I have to guess that Ms. Pacman will win this, just because it's a classic that everyone knows.  However, Pacman never really did it for me.  It always make me nervous, since death was immenant.  It was like getting chased in a dream.

This wrestling game was super sweet (and I didn't even really like wrestling).  Since wrestling is so crazy, unrealistic, and over the top, you can do that same fun stuff in video games, without having to worry about realism.

I'm going to go w/ NWO/WCW on this one. Do you guys remeber wrestling games before this came out? It was lame, you lock up and whoever can push the button faster would win the body slam. This brought in counter/ reverse moves, a super dope roster, and you could literally knock people the fuck out, w/ these awesome running punches! That was "THE" way to win the match back in the day! Ms. Pacman just felt like a tranny Pac Man, cool game but it seems like the same game.
