you said he rocks right.  Grin
7 IP 1 ER 0 BB 10K's

oh yeah and we took 2 out of 3 from boston on their own turf

offense of course led the way, what do you think of the offense maine

9th inning was poorly umped. i've seen better calls at a square dance. i like intense 9th innings as much as the next guy but calling strikes, strikes and balls., balls in the way i like to see it go down.

Lilly owns the Red Sox for some bizarre reason. In fact, when he was a Yankee I attended 4 games that year and Lilly pitched in all four. One of them was against Boston and he was great against them except for Manny who hit two homeruns that landed on Venus.

Against the rest of the league last year his ERA was over 6.

Yep, I know exactly what I said.  Ted Lilly sucks.  Too bad he has to pitch against more teams than Boston.  Just in case YOU forgot what I said, here it is:

Lilly, outside of being a Red Sox killer, is useless.  He's injury prone and a career 4.67 ERA guy with a lifetime 44-45 record.  If Toronto had to play Boston 80 times a year, he'd come in handy.  They don't, and he isn't.

So let's see - his first start against a non Red Sox team he got knocked around.  He was hurt in spring training.  Hmmmm.  Seems I am pretty on about the guy.

I would say the Yankees will crush him, but the offense the past few years has been bi-polar. 9 runs in 2 IP or 0 ER in 8 IP wouldn't surprise me.

Hey Maine,

He's just talkin smack because the Jays won the first series of the season against the BoSox.

What he fails to realize (and I sometimes make this mistake at one point or another), is that this isn't football.  The baseball season is a long haul and there's a lot to be played.

I'll say this - if Boston can't put some space between themselves and the Jays during the season, it could get interesting.  Boston can't beat Toronto, they built their entire team to beat Boston (which might be their downfall).
