After the unbelievable success of Super Mario 64, Nintendo of Japan and America introduced StarFox 64, a sequel to the SNES game.  StarFox 64 was the first ever game to support Nintendo’s “Rumble Pak” – a device that makes your controller shake and rumble, depending on what is happening in the game.  In StarFox 64, mad scientist Andross, exiled to the planet Venom, is planning on attack on Fox McCloud’s homeworld, Corneria.  McCloud is the captain of a fighter jet squadron, and your mission is to travel to planet Venom, and destroy Andross and his drones before Corneria is destroyed.

One of the most popular platform games of all-time, Konami’s CastleVania led the charge for independent developers in the mid 80’s.  CastleVania quickly grabbed the attention of teenagers and young adults alike, with its dark storyline and adult-oriented game play. Simon Belmont, a vampire slayer, is on a quest to once and for all rid the world of the most hated ghoul of them all – Dracula.  Along the way, Belmont enhances his Whip, collects weapons, and amasses points.

StarFox 64 was one of the most immersive games ever.  The Rumble Pack actually added to the feel of the gameplay and wasn't just a stupid gimick.  Castlevania was cool, but StarFox is the bomb.

     I never found StarFox to be that entertaining.  So, I'm going old school with Castlevania.  I liked Castlevania's storyline, which was one of the more captivating things of the game.  I like games that involve the vampire genre.

I'm pretty shocked that StarFox isn't running away with this.  Castlevania was good for Nostalgia, but really can't hang with StarFox.

Seeing that screenshot on Starfox reminds me of how fucking sweet that game was, but unfortunately Castlevania was one of the best side scrollers on NES. And I just love Vampires and um.. whips.
