I don't know, man.  ...personal preference aside, the Metal Gear series is more popular, goes back longer, sets the stage for spy games, and has a much more relevant story.  It's more important to video game history than Splinter Cell is.

I can agree with that.  I'm just speaking on personal preference.  I had a similar experience as you did.  I tried Metal Gear Solid and I couldn't stay interested in it.  I died once and said "F this game" and sold it to crazy scar man for $2.50.

Splinter Cell, on the other hand, at least gives you the "who the hell just killed me, I'm gonna get that rat bastard" feeling.

Like I said, just personal preference.

I fell in love with original Metal Gear. A fantastic game for it's time. I got stuck in a jail cell, and it took me over an hour just to get out. Fantastic story line as well..I have played every game in the series, and am eagerly awaiting MGS 4...

Personally, I prefer the original Metal Gear Solid over it's sequel. Probably my favorite game of all time.

Sam Fisher? Over Snake?? Impossible. Snake is indestructible.
