Why is the white man always trying to bring a brotha down.... Roll Eyes  Seriously there was talk on some sports shows last night of taking his Heisman trophy away possibly. Lets be serious. Some of these knit-picking rules are a joke. Like LeBron getting those jerseys a couple years ago and having to return them.

It's all so strict it's not even funny.  Scholarship players and their families cannot accept gifts from outside sources.

So technically speaking, when I was at FSU, and I gave one of the football players $5 so he could go get himself some KFC, that constitutes a violation of NCAA rules.

I don't believe a $5 dollar lunch falls under NCAA violations. The rules are strict, but not that bad.

This is another reason I'm not much into college football anymore. The reason the players arent allowed to get any money is because it would cut into the money that every single other person involved with college football gets.

At least in the NFL, they are honest about it being about money.

Technically it does.  Will the NCAA do anything about it, probably not.

No it doesn't. Players are alloted meal money and that can even be gven to them by the institution. $5 is under the allotment.

By the institution..... not by another student.

OK Tommy. Think about it this way then. According to your theory, no NCAA athlete would be allowed to go on a date, receive a birthday present, Christmas, etc. Now does that even seem the least bit realistic? Like I said the NCAA is strict, but there are also a lot of misconceptions floating around.
