Okay, so the QB topic didn't go over so well.  Well, because of Ricky's fourth suspension many in the media and several Dol-Fans believe that another RB should be drafted to compliment Brown.  Sammy Morris and Travis Minor aren't terrible backs but, they're backup RB's for a reason.  Personally, I believe that you have to have a two-back system in this league to win nowadays.  Some of you may not agree, but that's just how I feel.

So with that said, should Dolphins spend another pick on a running back?  Some have said they should use their 16th pick on a RB, others have said wait until the later rounds.  The real question is, what do you the members of TDMMC think?  Here are some prospect profiles of a few the feature RB's in the NFL Draft.  These profiles come from NFL.com.

  Enjoy!

No, no, no, no, no.  Nobody said the Phins needed to draft another running back when Ricky was the main guy.  The Cowboys did fine with Emmitt Smith and a bunch of "who dat" backups.  So did the Denver Broncos with Terrell Davis, and the Ravens with Jamal Lewis, the 'Niners with Roger Craig and then Ricky Watters.  Workhorse backs may not be "en vogue" right now, but it's a tried and true formula.

I say give Ronnie Brown his 20 - 25 carries per game (is he no longer considered a feature back?), give Morris and Minor 10 carries (combined), and spend that # 16 pick on a DB (several will be there at # 16), or DT (Ngata seems to be slipping), or a DE/OLB (Wimbley?).

I am very big on doing RBBC here.  I think that Brown shouldn't handle a full load.  He's never been a featured back.

I wouldn't say the QB topic didn't go over very well.  You actually did pretty good there.  Now, back to the RB business.

We need a solid backup to spell Ronnie and plug in if Ronnie goes down.  I say pick up a Fred Taylor, Antowain Smith, or even Onterrio Smith if Saban likes RB's who have drug problems (He just got cut from the Vikings today).  Also, it's time to see if Kay Jay Harris belongs in the NFL.

Onterio Smith didn't get reinstated for 2006.

He's still serving a one year suspension which expires on June 7.

And what Beef is saying, after his suspension is up in June, the league denied O.Smith reinstatement for this year...and the Vikings cut him today....

Where does it say that?  He can't even apply for reinstatement until after his suspension is up.

If Maurice Drew is avail in the 3rd round Miami should pick him.  He is on the smaller size but he could run and catch.

I believe Drew is head and shoulders better than Minor.
