Konami Bracket:

Why Metroid shouldn't win

Metroid for NES was one of the most confusing games, ever.  There was no instruction, no direction, and no fun.  You were just put on some random world, and you had to figure out everything for yourself, like, why the hell did you buy the stupid game in the first place?  You kinda walked around as stupid bats flew at you, while you collected flashing CD's.

What a sham.

VS.

Why GTA - Vice City shouldn't win

GTA - Vice City played on the "what's hip" wave, that quickly died out in the early 2000's.  It was cool to play a game where every character was a stupid rapper wanna-be, or a gangster wanna-be, and all you did was go around beating people up and stealing cars.  Because, breaking the law IS what is popular.  There was really no storyline - you just did jobs for people, picked up hookers, killed people, and everyone fell in love, living vicariously though the character of Vice City, like the posturing bitches that you all are.

Game Over, buddy

One thing that I don't like about Vice City (or any of the 3D GTA games) is getting out of the car.  The control scheme is awkward, and the lock on system makes you fight the controls.  Usually, the difficultly related to the missions on foot comes from a clunky control scheme, rather than a great difficulty.  Far and away, the best parts of Vice City are done in vehicles, or off sniping, when you're standing still.

I never had a problem with the on foot missions. I guess it just takes getting used to and I always thought the auto lock on worked pretty damn good.

Yeah, it worked...but I felt that you weren't working with the controls...you were working against them.  I ended up dieing sometimes, because I didn't know where the shots were coming from, because the auto-lock was on a different guy.  I wish they'd implemented FPS controls, with the duel sticks.  The PC aiming system (mouse, keyboard) worked SO MUCH BETTER.
