This weekend the air and see show is coming to town in Ft. Lauderdale. Basically, its a punch of jets (including the Blue Angels) doing stunts all day and entertaining the masses. Its a lot of fun.

Brian, I and our girlfriends will be going on Sunday to watch the show from Ft. Lauderdale Beach and if anyone else from here would like to join us, you guys are more than invited. We will probably going around noon. If interested, let us know and we can figure out how to get together.

Air shows are great. I went to one at Patrick AFB. I've never seen the Blue Angels, but I've seen the Thunderbirds.

I'm jealous.  Grin

I think I'm going to go to Sunfest on Sunday.  Enjoy the "see" show.

Sunfest pales in comparison to the Air and See Show.

I'll be running a 15k through Disney.

I took a run on the beach and saw that everything is all set up.  Plus, I've been watching then practice all this week.

I'm glad to get out of town, though. The traffic is too much for me. I can't escape it.

Don't get me wrong.  I've had fun at the Air and Sea show before.  However, It's really just celebrating weapons of destruction.  Maybe it's the hippy tree-hugger in me, but it's not really how I want to spend my time, with our country at war...it seems off, for some reason.  ...A little too much flag-waving for my taste.

Dave, you can't tell me that you wouldnt want to take a ride in one of those jets.

Well, you can tell me, but I won't believe you.  Grin

I can see your point there, tree-hugger, but I really think the air-sea show is more of a celebration of man's ability to fly than it is a showcase for military prowess. At least that's how I always looked at it. The biplanes doing aerobatics, sport jumpers' parachutes opening up, the blue angels blazing by in tight formation... I enjoy the hell out of the air-sea show every year. I do agree with the Buddha babe though. The traffic in that area is a mutant mutherfukker during the show.

Stroke, I agree.  It's mixed up....I think that the stunt planes, and rescue missions stuff is very cool, and tasteful.  However, they do have bombers dropping little fake bombs in the ocean, and other things that are definitely showing off military power and muscle.

That in itself doesn't bother me...I just think that it seems a little strange right now in time.  I don't have a problem with it...I just don't really want to go celebrate it, myself.

I was going to go check it out tomorrow for a little bit, only because I "probably" have to be up in Delray all day Sunday. I'll know tonight whether I'll be able to pop down on Sunday instead. If I can, I'll PM ya here or hit Brian on his cell.

I've gone the past 4 years and I've never seen them drop any fake bombs in the ocean.  That'd be awesome as hell!

Yeah, I saw it.  I'm not sure what they were made of, but they made lots of splashes.
