I just went looking for something and noticed on EA's site that EA Sports doesn't have a 2006 version of MVP baseball.

Has Sega Sports pulled a Madden on EA?  Did they get exclusive rights to MLB games for their MLB2k6 game?

I've been wondering what's up...I've not seen a 2006 baseball game for the PC..I didn't see MVP 2006....I'm still playing 2005...I have the last update for the rosters(Dec 2005),then modiefied all the rosters,to make them as accurate as possible...

I found this on an EBay auction....
(take it with a grain of salt..)
Thousands of MVP Baseball fans were extremely disappointed when it was announced that EA would no longer be making a MLB game.

They're trying to sell a roster update for 2005....

They have MVP NCAA Baseball - which leads me to believe the MVP2006 engine exists but they couldn't get the rights from MLB to use the teams or players.

I don't know how that affects a 2006 update for MVP 2005

Absolutely correct.  They lost the MLB license, so they made the game with college players instead.  I don't know if SEGA had anything to do with it.  I'll check it out.

It may not be Sega, but its called "2K Sports"

I just assumed, based on the NFL2K series that Sega Sports had something to do with it.

I believe Sega sold off the 2K Sports franchise to Take-Two Interactive (producers of GTA) a while back.

I believe 2K has the 3rd party rights, so their is no MVP MLB game. 1st party companies can make MLB games. Sony has MLB 06 The Show.

Ok this is only a tiny grave dig, considering it just fell to the second page....but...

I found a place,a bunch of modders that updated MVP 2005,and made version of MVP2006...they've also got a lot of great things for MVP 2005,I just can't new rosters to work..they tend to crash my game.....
Here's the link...
http://www.mvpmods.com/index.php

You do have to register...I'm installing the 2006 mod now...Maybe I'll give it a review in a couple of days....
