yeah, i just watched this over at IGN before checking here...

who are they trying to impress with this trailer? we want actual gameplay footage, not portions of what will probably be the opening cinema.

if this game ends up anything like halo 2, i'm going to be very disappointed.

I don't think that it's possible to show in-game footage.  I imagine the game is probably a year away from release.  It was essentially just an announcement.

However, the demo for Gears of War for XBOX360 looked absolutely incredible.  Did anyone else check it out?

I heard that Halo 3 was scheduled for release in November.

yep, it's a fall 2006 release, probably shipping the same day as PS3. so there SHOULD be gameplay footage available by this point.

That might just be a rumor.  The trailer says 2007.  I'd be cool if it launched with the PS3.  I hope they don't rush to get it out though.

oh ok, when i looked, IGN and gamespot both had it as a november release, but if the trailer says '07, it's definitely '07.

The original plan was to release it the saem day as PS3, but as usual, its delayed.  Now, they're shipping Halo 3 in 2007, and they're supposedly dropping the price of 360 when PS3 comes out.  PS3 is going to be $399/$499 and I think 360 is going to $249/$349.

No, PS3 is $499/$599....but it's really just $599....like like the XBOX360 is really $399, even though they have a a $299 option.  The core system doesn't sell for the XBOX and it won't sell for PS3, either.  It has a smaller hard drive, but also lacks wi-fi connectivity, and memory sticks to transfer data.

and most importantly, the 20gb version has no HDMI outputs...so its usefulness as a BRD player is basically 0.

I think I read that cutscene takes place about a 1/3 of the way into the game. I too wish they would have showed some gameplay footage but that leaves something to look forward to. And how about Cortana being separated from Master Chief, cant wait to play.
