I've gone to bed damn near 2 AM the past 3 nights and got up at 7:30 each morning.

I'm friggin exhausted.  I'm having a hard time getting through today.

NBA playoffs to blame, like in my case?  Late night internet porn surfing?  Gaming?  Drinking alone in a dark corner of the house?  What gives?

Stuff to do, some late night surfing, not always porn, but generally bill paying and tv watching.

Most common cause - not ready to go to bed.

Try drinking a 12 pack in under 2 hours. I guarantee you sleep.

I'm trying to break myself of this same habit, with moderate success.  I now go to bed by eleven on most weeknights.  NBA playoffs are tough, though, because I'm a bit of a basketball junkie.  So I, like you, Brian, am tired tonight (from watching Heat - Nets and Clips - Suns).  No basketball on tonight, so I may be asleep early tonight.

I am going to the grocery store after work, going home to make dinner and going to bed shortly after American Inventor is over tonight.

I've been staying up too late, and then getting up without getting enough sleep.

I find that I get really tired at like 8 O'Clock, but by 11, I'm amped again, and can't get relaxed until about 2.

Maybe you guys should look at your diet if you are getting amped at night. I don't really have the problem myself, but some people are heavily affected by sugar or caffeine.

I have no trouble falling asleep after working my 12 hour day. I come home by 8:30 or so and pass out anywhere between 10:30 and 11.

That's exactly my problem!  I'll get home from work, I'm really tired and sluggish, and by 9 PM I'm ready to go out again.  That's why I'm up until 2 each night.

Stop getting hyped up on TV, the computer, porn or whatever.  Be a little disciplined and get to bed and the little adrenaline rush will cease and you'll be just as tired as you were when you got home!

I speak from experience.  Wink

Instead of surfing the Net and viewing porn sites, try reading a good book when you get in bed.  I guarantee you that within 20-30 minutes, your eyes will get heavy and you'll fall asleep.

I do not have this problem. I struggle to stay up until 11.

I think it's all the running I do.  I don't even own an alarm clock. In bed by 11.  Up by 6.  Everyday. Even weekends, unfortunately.
