Knicks get the #2 pick which should really help them rebuild.

Huh? What do you mean we don't have the pick? Who the fuck is Eddie Curry? Wait, we swap 2007 first rounders too? Why? Wait, they got our 2nd rounder in 2007 AND 2009? WHEN THE FUCK DID THIS HAPPEN? WE THREW IN TIM THOMAS TOO?Huh

Just shows how much Isaiah Thomas knows about how to build a team.

Oh, yeah, you're also over the cap for the next 27 years, too.  Good luck with that.   Wink

A lottery for a draft positioning...  stupid and always will be.

America's team

That was nuts. I saw that Toronto only had like an 8% chance of getting the #1.

I actually don't mind this.  It prevents teams from tanking the season completely.  Sure, you could go out and get humiliated each night, but it won't guarantee you anything!

And I actually don't mind teams tanking seasons.  At some point of the regular season the worst team knows how bad they are,  so what's the point in winning,  pride?  Please.
The worst team gets the most balls in the lottery right?  So nothing is preventing them from tanking anyway. Like you said, no guarantee,  but better chance.  It's nice to have more balls (huhuh) in the lottery.  It's just sad when a team better than the worst gets a better pick.  Hence:  stupid.

So why don't other sports adopt this retarded method? Hell the NFL would be much more interesting if it held the draft this way.

P.S.  So John,  do you EVER disagree with anything established?  Just wondering.    Huh

Man I am glad we never played on the same teams together. I would guess most people would agree with me too. A man's pride is pretty important in my book.

I didn't mean that I do / would do it,  but I can understand why it's done if it's done collectively (at that level of sport).   Losing at a game of streetball, or a tournament you pay for, on purpose has no redeeming value.

Sure I do, Carlos:

I detest the Designated Hitter in baseball.  Pitchers wouldn't throw at batters as often if they had to step up and bat in the next inning.

I dislike the fair catch rule.

I don't like the BCS formula in college football.

I think the passer rating system in the NFL needs reworking.

Do you ever consider that things usually are the way they are because they've been studied and are the best / most economical / most feasible thing to do?

And back to tanking:  NBA teams generally don't tank their seasons for a 25% shot at the # 1 pick.  Last time I heard accusations of tanking in the NBA must have been...Sunstroke accusing the Spurs of doing so in order to get Duncan, though Boston had the best chance of getting him.
